Missions

Our church is committed to spreading the love of Jesus Christ through word and deed in our local community and around the world. We have many opportunities for people to get a helping hand and to be a blessing to others. Check out some of the opportunities that are available:


Local Missions

There are alot of ways to get involved throughout the year helping people in our area. Check out these organizations, which are great places to get started:

National Missions

Our Church has sponsored several trips over the past few years including  Pass Christian, MS to help rebuild homes devastated in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and trips to  Atlanta, Ga  to minister to the homeless with Pastor Andy and Church on the Street.

We have also traveled to Zoe Kentucky to  work with  Appalachian Ministries.  We currently do not
a trip planned but may join them in the fall  to wrap Christmas presents for the local children.  If you are interested in this trip or  for more information,   please  Email missions@1chog.org.

International Missions

In the past our church has sent groups to Brazil to work with Tom and Jean McCraken  on various 
projects throughout Brazil

2003 was the first year that we sent a group to Guatemala and have made the trip every year since.  With Isai Calderon planning the work camps, we work side by side with our brothers and sisters in Christ to share Gods love and further his kingdom.  We plan to continue trips to Guatemala as God leads us. 

We  are currently in the planning  process for a  trip to Guatemala in early 2011.  We will have more information concerning dates and cost soon!!
